18 more days to go…

The support from our community has been overwhelming.  So many people have offered their services to assist us in breaking a world record and more importantly, raise a lot of money for the Race for the Cure.  We will never be able to say thank you enough to the many people who are involved in this incredible event.

Last week, The Spaghetti Warehouse taught four home economics classes at Freedom High School.  Students were trained to prepare our Incredible 15 Layer Baked Meat Lasagna.  On Tuesday, we will travel to Freedom School District again.  Two more classes at Freedom Middle School will receive our special Lasagna training to prepare them for their class trip to The Spaghetti Warehouse.  Over 75 students from Freedom Area Schools will help in preparing hundred’s of pans of lasagna.  Without their help, our record wouldn’t be possible.

For months, The Spaghetti Warehouse has met with students from Carnegie Mellon University SIFE to create marketing materials including this blog and our website.  We wouldn’t be able to break this world record without the hard work and dedication of this elite team.

With only 18 days to go, we’re anticipating the deliveries of over 2,800 pounds of lasagna noodles, 920 pounds of ricotta cheese, and 2,400 pounds of mozzeralla cheese.  We’ll keep you posted on our progress…..

Introducing….The World’s Largest Lasagna

The Spaghetti Warehouse Restaurant, located at 2601 Smallman Street in Pittsburgh, will build The World’s Largest Lasagna on Mother’s Day, May 11, 2008.

This colossal lasagna will weigh over 8,800 pounds and will bring an elite group of volunteers and businesses together to accomplish a once in a lifetime record breaker.

The Spaghetti Warehouse will unveil a 35′ wide lasagna at the finish line of the Race for the Cure.  Spectators and participants will have the opportunity to purchase a piece of history for just $3.  Tickets are being pre-sold at The Spaghetti Warehouse, by phone (412) 261-6511 or during Race for the Cure registrations at Pittsburgh area Dick’s Sporting Goods.  All proceeds will be donated to the Susan G. Komen Race for the Cure.

With the help from Carnegie Mellon University’s SIFE, we will attempt to track the progress and narrate the journey of building The World’s Largest Lasagna.
